Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

If we don’t have a distributor or retailer near you, BoltRail may be purchased directly by contacting us. We are able to ship anywhere in the world.

BoltRail uses sleeves to adjust the hole in the bolt holders to accept bolt diameters of 3/4”, 1” and 1-1/4”. Do you need a custom size or solution? Contact us to learn more.

Yes, 5/8” diameter anchor bolts may be set with the BoltRail system. Simply wrap some masking tape around the bolt to ensure a snug fit inside the ¾” diameter bolt holder sleeve.

BoltRail is available in 26”, 33”, 45” and 55” lengths. We can manufacture custom lengths up to 72” long for minimum orders of 150 BoltRail units. Do you need a custom size or solution? Contact us to learn more.

BoltRail eliminates the material, material handling and labor associated with site-built anchor bolt templates. BoltRail is quick and easy to use, ensuring that anchor bolts are cast vertical and parallel to one another. BoltRail reduces cost, achieves schedule gain, and improves QA/QC. BoltRail is reusable.

One of the supports in the BoltRail assembly slides along the body of the BoltRail to adjust the clamping length of the BoltRail to any width of form shorter than the specified length of BoltRail. The supports/piers rotate to align with the edge of the formwork. This combination of features ensures that BoltRail may be installed in the required alignment to correctly set anchor bolts in position regardless of formwork geometry or orientation. Do you need a custom solution? Contact us to learn more.

We chose LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) for the main body of BoltRail because it can be easily modified by carpenters at the construction site to meet just about any anchor bolt setting challenge. By fastening the sliding support pier to the body of the BoltRail at the required length and cutting off the excess length of BoltRail, a shorter BoltRail can be made and slipped inside the formwork. Do you need a custom solution? Contact us to learn more.

Unlike site-built templates, BoltRail is reusable. The adjustability of BoltRail allows BoltRail to be used multiple times. For best results, BoltRail may be oiled just like formwork. When used with care, BoltRail can be expected to have similar life to formwork.

Clients that are using BoltRail have reported 3 to 6 reuses on the first job site and that the product they purchased had enough life to do a second project.*

*Results may vary, subject to site conditions and installation methods.

We do encourage the use of nuts both above and below the BoltRail, though it is not required.

BoltRail can set anchor bolts in position in 5 to 7 minutes. Individual results may vary subject to site conditions and installation methods.

BoltRail can be used to set anchor bolts for baseplates that require 4, 6, 8 or more anchor bolts by simply adding more bolt holders to the main body of the Bolt Rail. Do you need a custom solution? Contact us to learn more.

A larger version of BoltRail that will accommodate anchor bolt diameters of 1-1/2”, 1-3/4” and 2” is being developed. Do you need a custom solution? Contact us to learn more.

BoltRail will accommodate metric equivalents of 3/4”, 1” and 1-1/4” diameter anchor bolts (19mm, 25mm, and 32mm).

Yes, additional bolt holders may be purchased separately and added to BoltRail to set more anchor bolts at one time.

BoltRail is proudly manufactured in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Yes, BoltRail’s swivel supports are removable, and BoltRail may be used without the swivel supports.

Yes, there is enough flange on the swivel supports to level BoltRail before fastening BoltRail to the formwork. If the formwork is out of level too much, it is easy to add scrap lumber to the formwork or to the body of the BoltRail to create a level support for BoltRail.

For large spans, BoltRail may be fastened between a pair of 2x4 or 2x6 lumber to span across larger footings and foundations.
